5 stars for safety, but it loses one in that it's not 100% comfortable in my small arthritic hands. It works left- and right-handed, cuts through boxes easily, and the blade cover keeps the blade from cutting anything else once it comes off of the box. It's a good, solid design, but could potentially use a slight ergonomic tweak for smaller and/or arthritic hands.

Slice #10477 Super-Safe Carton Cutter and Slice #10400 Manual Box Cutter are both fitted with the #10404 box cutter blade and I would recommend for arthritic hands, the Manual Box Cutter would be better suited. While the Super-Safe Carton Cutter will fit into the palm of your hands, our Manual Box Cutter minimizes muscular effort and wrist strain when cutting through materials due to its ergonomic hook design! // TEAM SLICE // Miami, Florida
